In the latter, participants were more diverse in age, education, income, English-language ability and usage, race or ethnicity, sex, computer experience, previous voting experience, and partisanship. Second, the field studies were much more realistic: they were held in office buildings and other locations where many individuals go to vote in actual elections; our staff played the role of election officials.
