In this Very brief advent, engineer David Muir wooden turns a focus on a box that we frequently take with no consideration. He sheds gentle at the nature and significance of civil engineering within the background of civilization and urbanization, outlines its many accomplishments within the glossy period, and issues to the hurdles that civil engineering will face sooner or later. starting with the duty of making a payment on a abandoned island, Muir wooden units out the issues that civil engineers face on a daily basis, highlighting the social and environmental demanding situations in addition to the seize of technology and know-how had to craft constructions, bridges, tunnels, homes, and components of activity. the writer additionally profiles the lives of a few of the main civil engineers, similar to Isambard state Brunel, the acclaimed builder of steamships, railways, and tunnels, and Sir Joseph Bazalgette, whose sewer procedure in vital London was once instrumental in relieving town from cholera epidemics. ultimately, Muir wooden considers the turning out to be hassle of dealing with our water and effort offers, and he seems on the engineering profession's elevated sensitivity to construction and the surroundings.

This research explains the Greco-Roman city shape because it pertains to the geological foundation at chosen websites within the Mediterranean basin. all of the sites--Argos, Delphi, Ephesus, and Syracuse between them--has manifested in its actual shape the geology on which it stood and from which it was once made. "By demonstrating the dependence of a bunch of towns on its geological base," the writer writes, "the learn forces us to ascertain extra heavily the ecology of human cost, now not as a collection of theories yet as a suite of sensible constraints.

The observations were made using a JEOL 2010 FEG microscope operating at 200 kV. A slow scan Camera on a Gatan Imaging Filter was employed for image recording. The composition of the grains was analyzed using the EDX system attached to the microscope. Specimens for TEM were thinned using a Focused Ion Beam (FIB) type FEI Helios 600 Nanolab dual beam. The Curie temperature TC were measured on a differential sample magnetometer MANICS in a field of 1000 Oe. TC was determined from the M (H) curve by extrapolating the linear part of the M (T ) curve and finding the temperature value of the intersection with the extended baseline [9, 10].
