THE POLARIZED IMAGE OVERLAY TECHNIQUE In 1985 (Whanger and Whanger) presented a new technique useful to compare the characteristics of different images: the two images in comparison are projected onto a suitable screen through polarizing filters and these superimposed images are then viewed through a third polarizing filter.
