This examine is a revised model ofa booklet, released in February 1990 below an identical name, as my Ph.D. thesis on the collage of Stockholm. Revision of an previous paintings poses particular difficulties, a few of which deserve stating. After the looks of the 1st model of this booklet new literature on similar matters and a brand new model of the crucial HusserI textual content concerned about the dialogue have seemed. The more recent literature comprises either bills of Twardowski's proposal and its family to HusserI's philosophy, notwithstanding with no concerning my learn from 1990, principally as the texts involved have been con ceived parallell to it, although released later, or independently of it. it will appear anachronistic, during this scenario, to go into into new and ex tensive discussions with the authors of this literature. the alternative made right here has been to replace the unique examine, including references to texts released after my examine, and to take account of issues of perspectives expressed. i've got retained the key a part of the elemental info giv en within the 1990 model, even if a few of it could possibly now be extra famil iar to scholars than it used to be in 1990.

KRV B 376), and Vorstellung is indicated as a genus in a hierarchical pattern, which might be depicted by the following scheme: Vorstellung (repraesentatio) Perzeption (V. mit Bewusstsein) Subjektive: Objektive: Empfindung (sensatio) Erkenntnis (cognitio) Anschauung(intuitus) Begriff(conceptus) empirischer sinnlicher Bildes- reiner Verstandesnotio Idee ("ein Begriff aus Notionen der die Moglichkeit der Erfahrung ubersteigt") Liliana Albertazzi gives in an essay (Albertazzi 1992) an account of the relations between Twardowski's theory of objects and Kant's diversified notion.
