Well, here we are in early April and I have been involved with the Center for the last 5 or so months. I must say my time here so far has been extremely rewarding and intense. I thought I knew CNVE but I only saw what those from the outside see, our programs and our results. However, the work and detail beyond those impressive programmatic marvels are far reaching. Lenae and our CNVE network of volunteers and student staff are truly an indication of the entrepreneurial spirit that is alive and well at Texas A&M, the Mays Business School and our Department of Management. The numbers of students, faculty, administrators, and Texas entrepreneurs we reach is a testament to the work done and the need for entrepreneurship throughout our stakeholder community. So with that let me get you all up to date with how the Center for New Ventures and Entrepreneurship is changing lives through all your efforts, support, donations, and well wishes.
This month we bring you information that we hope is informative and a couple items of “News To Use”. The first is a report from Justin Webb, a Doctoral Candidate in the Management Department. You might remember Justin received a scholarship from the Aggie 100 Entrepreneurial Scholars Fund last year to further his research on entrepreneurs. I think you will find his preliminary findings of interest. The second is some thoughts I have on the recession we face as an opportunity or problem for entrepreneurs. I have been doing some reading, thinking, and talking to entrepreneurs throughout our network and would like to share some thoughts in this regard.
Lenae will also want to take this opportunity to update you on Center Activities, recent past and upcoming. We are certainly moving forward at a fast pace.
Our newsletter is about to begin its fifth year and we thank you for your support. We plan to offer our musings in the newsletter 3 to 4 times per year. Once again, thank you in advance for your support, thoughts, and suggestions.
