Special Olympics Texas Athletes to Hoop It Up at Tournament

Nearly 500 local Special Olympics Texas athletes are perfecting their shot for the Central Texas Area Basketball Tournament on February 26-27 at Texas State University Jowers Center, located at 601 University Drive.  Athletes start with a slam dunk as competition begins at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 26.  Opening Ceremonies gets athletes and fans geared up at 11:55 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.  Competition on Saturday begins at 8:30 a.m. and is expected to last until 7:00 p.m.  Athletes can compete in numerous events, including, individual skills, team skills, three on three, five on five and on Unified Sports teams.
