Transitional Housing Welcomes New Family Hillary Jordan, Case Manager  Last week, GRACE Transitional Housing welcomed three new members into our GRACE family. Melissa and her two children come to us by referral from a local shelter and church. Melissa is very motivated, already employed, and will be re-enrolling in school this fall! With her drive and initiative, we feel confident that Melissa and her children will be able to accomplish a great deal during their two years in the GRACE Transitional Housing Program!

Clinic Partners With Preferred Imaging of Grapevine Cheryl Mart, Clinic Nurse Manager The GRACE Outreach to Health Community Clinic excited to announce that Preferred Imaging of Grapevine has offered to be a "Care Partner" by providing diagnostic services. One of the biggest challenges we have at the Clinic is supporting our volunteer physicians with advanced diagnostic testing. Preferred Imaging has made a generous commitment to donate two CT Scans per month to our clinic patients. This donation will help our physicians provide quality care to our patients.
We are so grateful. What a blessing!

My Green Apron GRACE Food Pantry Volunteer  After I got laid off last year, I got a call from Rusty at the Pantry asking me if I could help out that Friday afternoon as he was short handed. Since I had nothing pressing, I agreed. When I arrived, I was given a GRACE apron and was told that it was mine to keep. I didn't realize that I was signing up to work every Friday afternoon! Pat showed me the ropes and I must say, it was quite rewarding keeping the Pantry running and, most of all, assisting and interacting with the clients. I love to find special items and make recommendations where appropriate. As I was leaving, I put the Apron back on the hook and said to Rusty "Someone else may need it next week".
After having worked Friday afternoons for several months, I found that began talking my apron home. I am proud of this apron: proud of what it stands for, proud of what it does, and proud that it is mine. This green apron has become a blessing for me as it blesses those it serves. If you have not yet had the privilege, I encourage to come to the pantry and put one of these blessings over your head, tie it in the back, and see what God can do with a simple apron. |
