The San Antonio Botanical Garden summer series of Concerts Under the Stars combines the beauty of the garden in the evening with the excitement of live music.
JUNE: The series opens on Thursday, June 11th with the R&B/soul sounds of the Second Nature Band – guaranteed to get the audience dancing in the grass. On Thursday, June 25th guests will be entertained by the vocals-rich and contemporary funky sounds of Planet Soul.
JULY: Get your Latin groove on with the Grammy-nominated Joe Posada on the Thursday, July 9. One of Tejano music’s most celebrated saxophonists, Posada is also recognized as a timeless vocalist and a well-versed lyricist. The straight-up Latin-Jazz band of Henry Brun and the Latin Playerz can be heard Thursday, July 23. The band offers a variety of Latin styles, ranging from the slow tempo of a Cuban cha-cha to conga and rumba rhythms.
Concert-goers may bring lawn chairs and blankets but no outside food and drink. Beverages—including wine, beer, water and soft drinks—will be available for purchase. Gourmet box suppers can be pre-ordered from Central Market (210-368-8600) and then picked up at the Garden before the concert.
Gates open at 6 p.m., with musical performances beginning at 7 p.m. and ending about 9 p.m. Admission is $5. Botanical Society members enjoy free admission.
SUMMER GARDEN PASS: A pass can be purchased for $30 which provides daily admission to the San Antonio Botanical Garden for the cardholder plus three guests from June 1 through August 31. The Summer Garden Pass also includes admission to all Concerts Under the Stars! Passes can be purchased online at www.sabot.org or at the Garden entrance.

The Botanical Garden is located at 555 Funston at North New Braunfels Avenue and is operated under the auspices of the City of San Antonio Department of Parks & Recreation.
