Congregation Jewish Community North (CJCN) donated $1,330.10 to Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) in April as part of its Corned Beef Fund Raiser, which raised money for both NAM and the synagogue.
This is the second year CJCN has held the fundraiser; last year’s donation to NAM was $1,100.
“We were pleased to receive the donation from CJCN,” said Carole Little, NAM President and CEO. “And the fact that this year’s fund raiser was even more successful than last year’s was an impressive feat, given the challenging economy.”
To raise funds, CJCN pre-sold corned beef lunches to community members and organizations and shared a percentage of the proceeds with NAM.
Congregation Jewish Community North (CJCN) is one of 10 congregations that helped found Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) more than 26 years ago.
The mission statement of the congregation is to enrich its members’ lives through worship, education, celebration and community involvement in accordance with Reform Jewish values and traditions.
