Grant applications now open for those to be featured in CFT’s annual Giving Guide
Communities Foundation of Texas

January, 2017

Communities Foundation of Texas today announces that the 2017 Letter of Inquiry process information and application are available on the Communities Foundation of Texas website.  Each year, in order to collect timely community needs for CFT fund holders, the foundation invites nonprofit organizations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to submit Letters of Inquiry (LOIs) outlining critical funding needs. CFT shares information submitted by nonprofits with their fund holders whose interests align with their specific areas of focus. In addition, CFT summarizes projects recommended by our review committee in the foundation’s annuaGiving Guidewhich is available online for anyone in North Texas to use when making decisions on how to make an impact locally. CFT will also fund a limited number of requests submitted through the LOI process using the foundation’s discretionary funds.

A few key dates to keep in mind for the 2017 LOI process:

  • January: 2017 LOI process information and application are available on the CFT website.
  • February 28: Informational workshops at CFT offices (5500 Caruth Haven Lane, Dallas, 75225) for agencies interested in learning more about the LOI process. You may attend either the morning session (9-11 AM) or the afternoon session (2-4 PM). Attendance at the free workshops is completely optional. REGISTER NOW for the workshops.
  • April 3 @ 5:00pm: Deadline to submit LOIs to grants@cftexas.org or at CFT offices (5500 Caruth Haven Lane, Dallas, 75225). You will receive a confirmation e-mail within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Before December 31: All agencies notified about grants funded out of CFT’s discretionary funds.
