More than 800 families are waiting to receive Thanksgiving meals from Northwest Assistance Ministries (NAM) this November.
Every year, the Assistance Department at NAM invites families in need to register for Thanksgiving meals. Qualifying families will receive a traditional turkey and all the trimmings needed to complete a Thanksgiving dinner. The Thanksgiving meal giveaway is valued at $50 per family and it can feed a family of four for three to five days.
“We want families to know that they don’t have to do it alone,” explained Debbie Peterson, Director of NAM’s Assistance Department. “As we continue to see a growing need for Thanksgiving meals every holiday season, NAM wants to be there to provide the extra help some clients may need to feed their families. That’s the whole reason behind Neighbors Helping Neighbors here at NAM,” Peterson said.
The Assistance Department is expecting to receive 600 people on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2016 and 200 more on Monday, Nov. 21, 2016. Qualifying families can get registration information by calling the Assistance line at (281) 583-4597.
Donations can be delivered to the Joanne Watford Nutrition Center. We are located 15555 Kuykendahl Rd. Houston, TX 77090, Monday through Friday. For more information, please call (281) 583-4555 or (281) 885-3914 after November 1.
