Día de los Muertos: Retablo Exhibition Details
Lawndale Art Center

August, 2016

Fall is approaching and with it Lawndale Art Center's annual Día de los Muertos celebration. We are eagerly anticipating this year's Retablo Exhibition, Benefit Auction, and programming and hope that you will join us in making it the most festive to date!

For many years, artists have rushed to pick up their tins on a first-come, first-served basis. This year, we are limiting the size of the Retablo Exhibition to approximately 150 works. Given the overwhelming demand for participation we are trying something new this year: a lottery-based system whereby everyone can submit their name "into the hat" and participants are chosen on a random basis.

The deadline to submit your name into the lottery is Friday, September 2nd. Participating artists will be notified by 5PM on Monday, September 5th.

As in years past, participating artists will be offered 50% of the proceeds from the sale of their Retablo in the Benefit Auction, along with a complimentary ticket to the Benefit Auction on Thursday, October 27th.

Retablo Delivery:
October 6 - 7, 10AM - 5AM & October 8, 12 - 5PM
DEADLINE: Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 5PM

Benefit Auction:
Thursday, October 27, 2016
7PM
Tickets will be available for $50 beginning September 1, 2016

Retablo Exhibition and Programs
October 27 - November 5, 2016
Please contact askus@lawndaleartcenter.org with any questions you may have.

Thank you for your support, and we look forward to seeing you during this year's celebration!
