PRESIDENT'S
MESSAGE
by Joyce Slocum
Have You Met
Tim Swan?
Dear Friends,

I have used this space to laud our fabulous staff and to heap praise on our wonderful listeners and supporters. There are so many amazing people who make it possible for Texas Public Radio to do its great work. Today, I'd like to recognize some folks who are particularly generous to TPR -- our Board of Directors.

Symphony Series
7p.m. Saturdays
Host Ricardo Chavira
In 1809, while Vienna was under siege, Beethoven was hard at work on his greatest piano concerto. Hear Inon Barnatan play the "Emperor" Concerto with the San Antonio Symphony, Saturday night at 7:00 on KPAC 88.3 FM and KTXI 90.1 FM. The broadcast also includes music by Jean Sibelius, and is hosted by San Antonio's own Ricardo Chavira.
The San Antonio Syphony has returned to KPAC for a series featuring some of the orchestra's best performances from the 2015-16 season.

CINEMA TUESDAYS
"The Last Picture Show" Closes Series
"The Last Picture Show" is one of the key films of the American cinema renaissance of the seventies. Set during the early fifties, in the loneliest Texas nowheresville to ever dust up a movie screen, this aching portrait of a dying West, adapted from Larry McMurtry's novel, focuses on the daily shuffles of three futureless teens and the desperate-to-be-adored rich girl and the aging lost souls who bump up against them in the night like drifting tumbleweeds.
