When: Thursday, July 21st, 2016, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm CDT
Topic: "Property Evaluation Basics: Reading the Land"
The best way to learn about the history of a property is to listen to its long-time owner. For new and potential owners, that option is not always available, but the history of a property is also written in the vegetation, its current state, and artifacts of past land use practices. This presentation will review the basic steps for reading that history and evaluating a property's potential based on the types and structure of plants present, the soils and ecological site types present, and comparisons to surrounding properties
