Local Cops to Collect Tips & Wait Tables for Great Cause at Texas Roadhouse on July 21

Police officers and Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) members from all around the Greater Houston area will trade in their handcuffs for serving aprons at the annual Tip A Cop Night, being held at seven Texas Roadhouse locations in the surrounding Greater Houston area (listed below) on Thursday, July 21. During the 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. dinner shift, officers will serve tables and collect tips, which will be turned in as donations to Special Olympics Texas at the end of the dinner shift.

The public is invited and encouraged to dine at any of the seven participating Texas Roadhouse locations and ‘Tip A Cop’ for his/her dedicated effort to support SOTX athletes. All tips will go toward providing SOTX programming for more than 9,900 athletes with intellectual disabilities in the Greater Houston area.

About the Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)

The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is Special Olympics' largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle.  In Texas, the Law Enforcement Torch Run began in 1985 and had grown to become one of the largest in the nation.  In the last decade, Torch Run has contributed over $12 million through the dedication of thousands of law enforcement personnel fundraising on behalf of SOTX.  The support provided by this dedicated group has contributed greatly to programs in local communities, which involve more than 55,200 athletes with intellectual disabilities throughout the state.
