Your Cactus Pear Brochure is On Its Way
Cactus Pear Music Festival

June, 2016

Pre-Festival News, Ticket Subscriptions & More...
The Season Brochure
It is in the mail and should be reaching your mailboxes early this week. In it you will find the full listing of programs, venues, and artists. It's a 20/20 season: 20 masterpieces and 20 world-class musicians.

Purchase tickets by June 30 and SAVE. Use the brochure order form that you can mail in or go online to conveniently pay with credit card.

Typo Alert: please note that Program 3,
French Impressions, will be performed on Friday, July 15; Program 4,
Firecracker Finale, will be performed on Saturday, July 16. The Order Form is correct, but we realized the dates on the inside of the brochure were switched.
The Interns Have Landed
A grant from the Bexar County Internship Program was given to CPMF allowing us to bring on one college student who is interested in the art and non-profit world. We thank Bexar County for this support and Sara Briggs for accepting that position. And we thanks Friends of CPMF for supporting Terri Landez and her internship role. Our 2016 interns are:

Sara Briggs is a senior at UTSA and will finish this summer with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Music. At a young age, she fell in love with singing and knew that she wanted to work in the music industry. Sara participated in choir throughout high school and college. During her college career she also participated in the organization Musicians of Business (MOB), which organized UTSA Underground and the very first Music Biz Day conference. In the future, Sara hopes to start a music festival to benefit victims of human trafficking. Sara is excited to be a part of the Cactus Pear Music Festival team this summer as the Communication and Media Specialist.

Terri Landez, a San Antonio native, who is currently a sophomore Cello Performance major at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY. At IC, Terri is most notably involved as a Leadership Scholar, a section cellist for the Ithaca College Symphony and Chamber orchestras, and the Vice President of the "HEARD" Creative Arts Outreach Program. In 2014, Terri was selected as a Young Artist's Program [YAP] Fellow for Cactus Pear Music Festival and is thrilled to be returning in 2016 as an intern.
A Quilt that Wraps Up Our 20 Years

To celebrate our 20th anniversary
season, we went into our tee shirt archive and grabbed 20 years of pristine samples, sent them off to a QUILT MAKER and, so far, have been teased with images of a work in progress (right). We will be holding a DRAWING for this one-of-a-kind commemorative artwork. We'll send details your way in about a week.
Stephanie's New CD Released on MSR
Steph's new CD has just been released on the MSR label. This is her follow up to her first solo CD Going Solo. Soaring Solo continues her exploration of works for violin and viola. Included is a newly commissioned piece from Miguel del Aguila, "Cortando Limones," as well as works by 3 living composers. The CD will be available at the festival concession table. If you can't wait, please go to our online CD page to order.

Program Book Ad Space Is Still Available
We still have a week before we close the book -- the program book, that is -- and you still have time to feature your business's vision with an ad. Please contact our Executive Director Renee Davis by email  if you want to grab one of our BW ads at $300 (full page), $200 (half page), $125 (quarter page) or $75 (business card size ad). We also have a very few full color full page interior ads left for excellent exposure at $500 or a half page color at $400. All proceeds benefit Cactus Pear and its musical mission and you reach a great audience at the same time.
