From Development to Implementation

Thursday, January 7, 2016

8:30 a.m. to 5:45 p.m.

John BrooksNatural Science Center

Sponsored by Morgan Stanley and

The Bill Munday School of Business

at St. Edward's University

Sustainable investment strategies have come a long way from the early days of

screening out sin stocks, like tobacco, alcohol and firearms,to today’s analytically driven

investment policies focused on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors.

More and more investors are exploring sustainable investing, and they’re expecting their

investments to generate a positive return while creating a positive change. This one-day

forum will explore how both objectivescan be achieved while challenging the long-held

belief that integrating sustainable strategies lowers risk-adjusted returns.

The Forum features both academics and practitioners. You’lldiscover how sustainable

business practices are being incorporated into today’scollege curriculum. How specific

mission, environmental and faith-based requirements are being fulfilled. And how ESG

strategies have been successfully implemented into institutional portfolios for years.

The Forum features nationally known experts in the field ofImpact and ESG investing

who will share insights, lead discussions andanswer questions, including…

How do I amend my investment policy to incorporate ESG andimpact investing

into a world that is not black and white? What constitutes a best effortsinvestment

What type of empirical evidence can I show my board in order for them to

implement sustainable investment strategies?

How do I integrate sustainable impact strategies into my current asset allocation?

What percentage of my portfolio should I commit to impactinvesting?

What should be the required rate of return for impact investments?

What does the Department of Labor think about ESG strategiesas outlined in the

latest Interpretive Bulletin?

How do I maximize fundraising capabilities, evaluate and retool governance

policies and procedures, find high impact board members, andnegotiate terms of

donor gifts?

A complete list of topics, along with the agenda, will be posted to the Graystone Consulting (Morgan Stanley) website very soon.
