Bacon Lee welcomes two new associates
Bacon Lee

August, 2015

Two new associates joined the Bacon Lee & Associates team this month.  Marion Lee, principal of the firm, said the two women bring breadth and depth to Bacon Lee & Associates talented team.  “Their energy and enthusiasm for our work is an added benefit, beyond their remarkable skills working with people and helping solve problems.”
Katie Noble Carpenter, a Galveston native, began work in the San Antonio philanthropic community upon her arrival in 2014.  She consults with area nonprofits to develop cases for support, best development practices, and compelling grant proposals.
Prior to moving to San Antonio, Katie worked for nearly 10 years at Rice University in Houston, first in donor stewardship and communications, developing creative and meaningful ways for the University to maintain close relationships with its donors. Later, as a foundation relations officer, Katie worked closely with major funders to boost Rice’s giving from corporations and foundations during the successful Centennial Campaign, which raised more than $1 billion for the University.
Katie has been active in the Association of Fundraising Professionals as a presenter on numerous topics.  She has participated in many CASE Conferences, and her team was honored in 2008 with CASE’s Bronze Award for CASE Development Projects and Special Events for the production of the OPEN Newsletter and Events, a publication supporting Rice University’s $1 billion Centennial Campaign.  Katie’s proudest moment in the Campaign was a securing a $20 million grant from the Moody Foundation for Rice’s future Moody Center for the Arts.
Katie received her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in English, with an emphasis in Professional Writing, and her master’s in Liberal Studies from Rice.

Shannon Kingman, a San Antonio native, brings more than eight years of experience in strategic planning, financial modeling, and other methods of quantitative analysis to the Bacon Lee team.
She previously worked as Director of Strategy for Texas Health Resources in Dallas/Fort Worth, a nonprofit healthcare system that includes 24 owned, operated, affiliated, or joint ventured hospitals.  While there she conducted strategic assessments for operational leadership at hospital and system levels, helping THR identify millions of dollars in savings and/or new growth opportunities.  She also developed annual strategic goals and detailed action plans for the hospitals.
In addition, Shannon was a management consultant and business analyst for Accenture for three years in Austin and also served as an MBA research intern at the Buxton Company in Fort Worth, TX.
Shannon received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce in commerce, marketing and finance, and her MBA degree from Texas Christian University where she was a top Neely Scholar and recipient of the Kleinert Scholarship.
