KCOS El Paso

May, 2015

American Public Television is set to debut PAT BENATAR & NEIL GIRALDO: THE 35thANNIVERSARY TOUR, a concert special from the powerhouse duo and rock 'n' roll legends Pat Benatar and Neil “Spyder” Giraldo, beginning June 8, 2015 on KCOS, El Paso’s PBS station.  The concert special showcases the superstars as they celebrate 35 years of undeniable chemistry and unprecedented sound and blaze through one of the largest arsenals of rock hits at the Paramount Theatre in Huntington, Long Island.

Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo will be live in El Paso performing at the Plaza Theater on Thursday, July 23rd.  KCOS has partnered with the tour to offer a limited number of tickets to donors as a thank you gift for their donations to public television.  Throughout the broadcast viewers will have the opportunity to learn more and call in to make their donation for tickets.

The concert will premiere on KCOS on Monday, June 8th at 8:30 pm and will re-air on Saturday, June 13th at 7:30 pm.

The concert kicks off with the powerful, Grammy-winning "Shadows of the Night" from their 1982 "Get Nervous" album. Featuring Giraldo's explosive, steel-bending guitar riffs and Benatar's trail-blazing vocals, the song captures the same razor-edge sound and passionate performances that first catapulted the duo to fame. The show continues with the anthemic "All Fired Up," followed by the 1979 Giraldo-penned "We Live for Love."

The concert also features the 1984 smash single "We Belong," the heart-stirring "Hell is for Children," played at every show to help raise awareness about child abuse, and their unforgettable classics "Hit Me With Your Best Shot," "Love is a Battlefield," and "Heartbreaker."

Filled with interesting stories that shed light on the band's history along with an electrifying set list, PAT BENATAR & NEIL GIRALDO: THE 35th ANNIVERSARY TOUR is a rock 'n' roll love story featuring two musicians whose music helped define the MTV generation and influence every generation to follow it.

With Benatar's mezzo-soprano vocal range and Giraldo's trail-blazing work as a guitarist, producer and songwriter, Benatar and Giraldo have forged one of the most successful partnerships in rock 'n' roll history. Since their initial collaboration 35 years ago on the debut album "In The Heat of the Night," they have sold more than 26 million albums and charted 19 Top 40 singles, earning four consecutive Grammy Awards and three American Music Awards.

Billboard Magazine ranked Benatar as one of the most successful female rock vocalist of all-time.  Her emergence as a fearless, fighting force has helped forge a path for other

female rock stars around the world.  In addition to the arsenal of more than 100 songs he's written, produced, arranged and recorded for Benatar, Giraldo's helped create hits

for legions of other artists including John Waite, Rick Springfield (No. 1, Grammy-winning classic “Jessie’s Girl," and Top Ten hit "I've Done Everything for You"), Kenny Loggins and more.
