Trick or Treat!
International Exotic Feline Sanctuary

October, 2014

International Exotic Animal Sanctuary News

We want to send out a big thanks to everyone who donated to IEAS on North Texas Giving Day! More than $4,000 was raised in just one day, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have surpassed the amount raised last year! The animals have such amazing supporters, and we feel grateful that you are all a part of their lives! Thank you all!

Don't forget about the animals this October! Remember that your
leftover pumpkins make PERFECT enrichment items for the animals!
The bears love to eat them, and the felines love to tear them apart.
Pick up an extra one and drop it off at IEAS, or wait until you are
ready to get rid of yours! We'll take all the pumpkins we can get!

We've been super busy this past month making sure all of our bears are getting ready for the winter ahead! With fall here, they have all started eating more to bulk up for the upcoming season. At the same time, we've been building extra caves to ensure that each and every bear will have a comfy place to sleep the winter away!

Fortunately for us, we've had a great group of interns here to help us with this tough work. In their first month at IEAS, the Fall Interns have worked extensively with cement and mortar, practicing both mixing and application techniques. This will certainly be a great resume booster for them, and we're glad they've been so eager to learn how it all works!

Mork
Male White-nosed Coatimundi
Born: October 8, 2003
Rescued: April 27, 2012

He may be one of the smallest residents of IEAS, but Mork has a big personality! This little man will sniff his way into your heart in no time at all. He has such a sweet demeanor and loves nothing more than lounging in his firehose hammock with his companion, Mindy.

Pecos
Male Bobcat
Born: October 30, 1996
Rescued: January 18, 1999

Pecos is a very private bobcat with strong instincts. He enjoys and appreciates all the privacy we can possibly give him! IEAS is the perfect place for him to relax, sleep, and feel safe. We are so happy to give him exactly what he wants and needs!

Titan
Male White Bengal Tiger
Born: October 31, 2005
Rescued: March 28, 2011

Titan is the largest tiger at IEAS. Since his arrival, with the help of our Emotional Enrichment Program, Titan has become one of the sweetest tigers as well! He loves the company of his most trusted friends and also enjoys keeping an eye on his neighbor, Karen!
