CLE and CEU credits pending
As you may have seen in the news, unaccompanied minors are crossing the border in record breaking numbers and recent efforts may allow some of these children to access shelter in North Texas. Many of these children may qualify for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, a form of protection for children who cannot return to their home countries due to abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Attorneys, service providers, and other child advocates are invited to a free lunchtime continuing legal education seminar to learn about immigration issues facing unaccompanied minors, with a particular focus on Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.
