'Tis the Season . . .
CPMF Launches 3-Year $40,000 Endowment Campaign
Greetings!

Chamber Music lovers like YOU made it possible for the
San Antonio Express-News Editorial Board in July to write: "There are many reasons why San Antonio is a destination city: the Alamo, Texas history, the River Walk. But for two weeks, Cactus Pear turns San Antonio into a summer destination for musical majesty. We are lucky to have it."

We are grateful for these words of praise and the recognition of our quest for musical excellence. We are even more grateful to those of you who attend our concerts, listen to our Young Artist Fellows perform, participate in our YOSA Master Classes, bring your children to our free Young People's Concerts, and support CPMF so faithfully. For the past 17 years our mission has been to bring the best musicians and programming to San Antonio each summer. And YOU have made that happen. As they say in my ancestral country, Grazie mille!

As you may know, ticket sales account for less than a third of the revenues needed for a chamber music festival of this caliber with such diverse programs and events in three cities. To continue inviting world-class artists, fully sponsoring the Young Artist Program, and providing free community engagements and educational concerts to our city and region, we rely on your continued, generous support.

We are now planning our 18th season and are already anticipating the programs and artists who will highlightour 20th anniversary in 2016.  Toward that objective, the CPMF Board of Directors voted at this week's meeting to launch our first ever Endowment Campaign, and they have pledged to raise their total annual board giving by an additional 20% for each of the next 3 years. This is quite a testimony to their vision for the festival, their faith in our organization and their passion for Cactus Pear.

I, personally, would like to invite you to join our Board's effort and help us drive those extra miles to excellence and long-term financial stability by considering an additional contribution specifically for our EndowmentOur objective is to increase our endowment corpus so that agencies that provide grants to arts organizations can see that Cactus Pear is building its community support with gifts from its friends and audience members. Please know that no gift is too small!

As the year draws to a close, I ask for your continued support of Cactus Pear Music Festival at whatever level you are blessed to contribute. YOU are the reason that CPMF has earned the reputation as the premier chamber music festival in the region! Thank you!

May the holidays shine brightly for you and your loved ones. And may Cactus Pear continue to stand for excellence and bring "musical majesty" into your New Year!
