LOCAL ALL STAR FOOTBALL GAME TO FOLLOW U.S. ARMY ALL-AMERICAN BOWL Alamodome Site of San Antonio Sports All Star Game
San Antonio Sports

October, 2013

The San Antonio Sports All Star Football Game, presented by H-E-B, will showcase top local high school players in a game immediately following the 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl on Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014 in the Alamodome.  The 35-year old battle of East vs. West, previously known as the San Antonio High School All-Star Football Game, will be held on a new date and in a new venue, providing an additional chance for local players to impress college scouts before National Signing Day.  The area’s top players will take the field at 5 p.m. after the best in the country kick-off at 1p.m..

Tickets are being offered as a combination ticket, with attendees having access to both the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and the San Antonio Sports All Star Football Game presented by H-E B. Tickets will be available beginning Tuesday, Oct. 15, at the Alamodome Box Office and through Ticketmaster.com for $13 (general admission) and $26 (reserved).

“San Antonio Sports’ partnership with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and H-E-B will elevate the profile of what has been a great high school all-star game and enhance the opportunities our local football athletes have to earn a college scholarship,”said Russ Bookbinder, President and CEO of San Antonio Sports.

The San Antonio High School All Star Football Game was previously staged by Kids Sports Network, which was acquired by San Antonio Sports in June.   It was held in the spring at a high school stadium and served as the final game of the players’ high school careers.  Now the San Antonio Sports All Star Football Game, presented by H-E-B, will provide visibility for participants in front of college scouts with potential scholarship offers.  Game day will be one of the best lineups of high school football showcase events anywhere in the country.

Players are nominated by their high school coaches, with each school allowed three nominations.  The teams will be announced later this fall.

“We are excited to be adding another great event to the anchor Saturday of All American Games Bowl Week. Together with the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, Army Strong Zone, Player Autograph Zone, and now the San Antonio Sports All Star Football Game, the day is one terrific, jam packed day of family entertainment,” said Doug Berman, Chairman of All American Games.
