Shumla is at an amazing crossroads. A foundation recently pledged multi-year support for our Border Canyonlands Archaeological Project (BCAP). This grant will provide $100,000 a year in support for BCAP, and the foundation has challenged Shumla to raise matching funds to maximize BCAP's effectiveness.
In its first year, BCAP has been tremendously successful, and we want to ensure the long-term viability of the project through single and multi-year pledges from donors. Your support of BCAP will help with:
- Documenting the threatened rock art of the Lower Pecos.
- Working with property owners to create site management plans.
- Disseminating information to researchers and the general public through newly published research and high-quality outreach programs.
