Board Day 2013
Strengthening Board Members, Strengthening San Antonio

Thu, 10 Oct, 2013 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Board Day is a conference for nonprofit and foundation board members hosted by the Masters Leadership Program, the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) – San Antonio Chapter and the San Antonio Area Foundation as part of our commitment to strengthen nonprofits through training and education for board members. Executive Directors, CEOs and senior development staff are welcome to attend with their Board members.

This year’s Board Day will focus on removing the fear in fundraising and empowering you as a Board member to embrace your role as the nonprofit organization’s most powerful fundraiser.

The purpose of Board Day is to increase the effectiveness of nonprofit organizations within the San Antonio and Bexar County geographic area by enhancing the board governance of those organizations.

Board Day:

  • Brings nationally recognized nonprofit scholars and thought leaders to San Antonio for an annual conference focused on the responsibilities of nonprofit board members.
  • Demonstrates to the San Antonio community that the nonprofit sector recognizes and embraces the need for continuing education and training in nonprofit best practices.
  • Creates recognition by the charitable foundation community for the need of continuous high-quality training for nonprofit board members.

Why is it that we tremble at the word Fundraising? Enjoy sessions on the Art of Listening, the Art of the Ask, Donor Relations and Stewardship.
