Please join us Thursday, May 23 for an informative and lively San Antonio Express-News/UTSA town hall discussion on comprehensive immigration reform, one of the most important issues of 2013. As you know, immigration reform legislation is being considered by Congress this year, and the issue is crucial for our region.
The discussion will begin at 7 p.m. in the Aula Canaria Room of the University of Texas at San Antonio’s downtown campus. Parking will be available in Lot D-3, beneath Interstate 35.
The Express-News/UTSA forum will feature informed discussion by experts, who will go beyond the headlines, politics and sound bites to provide analysis on what the legislation really means for South Texas and the border region.
Our panel includes Rene Zenteno, Mexico’s former undersecretary for migration and now a professor of demography at UTSA; Linda Chavez-Thompson, AFL-CIO executive vice president emerita; Jeff Judson, senior vice president of the San Antonio Tea Party and a senior fellow with Heartland Institute; and Juan R. Gonzalez, an attorney with expertise in Immigration and Nationality Law, including deportation defense.
Express-News Columnist Gilbert Garcia will moderate the event, and the panel will answer questions from the audience.
The town hall meeting is open to the public and admission is free.
We hope to see you there. Please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org
