Zachary Henry, a senior at St. Pius X High School, has been selected by the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP) as a member of the TASSP All-State Academic Excellence Team. He was chosen by the selection committee as one of the top 20 scholars in the state.
The prestigious award was designed to recognize Texas high school seniors for their outstanding academic achievements and the rewards of superior scholarship. Selection is based on a combination of GPA, SAT and ACT scores, pursuit of an advanced diploma, other evidence of exceptional academic ability and scores on a submitted essay.
As a member of the TASSP All-State Academic Excellence Team, Henry is awarded a $500 scholarship and will be formally recognized at the TASSP Summer Workshop held in Austin on June 13, 2013.
Henry will also be honored in The Catholic Heart, the official newsletter for Catholic Schools in the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston, as a student from St. Pius X who embodies the notion of a Catholic Scholar. He will attend Texas A&M University in the fall.
