USA Swimming names Omaha, Nebraska as site for the 2016 U.S.Olympic Trials for Swimming
San Antonio Sports

April, 2013

USA Swimming has announced that Omaha, Nebraska was awarded the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Swimming. San Antonio was one of three finalists selected from an original pool of 24 cities bidding to host the Trials.

"San Antonio Sports and our partners, including the City of San Antonio and the local swim community, put together an extremely competitive bid to bring the Trials to San Antonio. This was a great team effort. San Antonio is one of the premier destination sights for major national and regional sporting events and we will continue to work hard to host events that have economic benefit to our community. USA Swimming did an excellent job of conducting the bid process. Good luck to Omaha and USA Swimming in 2016." - Russ Bookbinder, President & CEO, San Antonio Sports

Thank you to everyone who supported our bid and joined our "I’m In!" online campaign. We are grateful and invite you to stay in touch. Visit us anytime at SanAntonioSports.org.
