This workshop, taught by Dr. Miles from Our Lady of the Lake University, provides training in strategic principles of nonprofit social media and email marketing. Topics include training in social media use, marketing theory, old vs. new ways of nonprofit marketing and best practices in social media marketing.
The facilitator for this workshop isD. Anthony Miles, Ph.D., MCP, RBA, CMA, MBC. He is from San Antonio and is a partnering faculty member from Our Lady of the Lake University’s School of Business and Leadership. He is CEO and founder of Miles Development Industries Corporation®, a consulting practice/venture capital acquisition firm. He is also a talk show host and producer of Game On® Business Talk Radio.
Dr. Miles is a leading expert in the areas of entrepreneurial risk, entrepreneurship, marketing and business model development. He has over 20 years experience in the retail, banking and financial services industries. He has consulted with several start-up ventures and small businesses and developed business and strategic plans for Brooks City-Base, a former military base that was under Base Realignment Closure (BRAC). He conducted research on minority contract awards trends with the City of San Antonio Government's Economic Development Department.
Dr. Miles has a Ph.D/MBA in Entrepreneurship and General Business from the University of the Incarnate Word, an MBA in Management from Our Lady of the Lake University and a BBA in Marketing/Management from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Additionally, he holds four business certifications: ● Management Consultant Professional (MCP)™; ● Registered Business Analyst (RBA)™ ● Certified Chartered Marketing Analyst (CMA)™ ● Master Business Consultant (MBC)™.
Accomplishments and Awards
In 2012,the San Antonio Business Journal featured Dr. Miles and his consulting practice, Miles Development Industries Corporation (Profile in Business Investment); ● In 2012 he won "Best Paper Award" in Economics for his research at the 2012 Academy of Business Research Conference in New Orleans, LA; ● In 2012, he published his research in seven academic journals:Academy of Business Research Journal (ABRJ); Southern Business and Economic Journal (SBEJ); Journal of Business Research; Journal of Management Research (JMR)and others. ● 2011,his second book,Risk Factors and Business Modelswas approved as a required supplemental textbook for the graduate course in Entrepreneurship at his alma mater, Our Lady of the Lake University; ● 2010, he won the "Teaching Excellence Award" from the Texas A&M University System. He was selected as one of the top 25% faculty from 11 universities in the Texas A&M University system that received this prestigious award. ● 2009 while completing his doctoral work, he was selected as one of 17 U.S. distinguished Ph.D. scholars in Entrepreneurship at the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship.
