CAITLIN HORROCKS  is author of the story collection This Is Not Your City, which
was named a New York Times Book Review Editor's Choice, a Barnes and Noble Discover
Great New Writers selection, and one of the best books of 2011 by the San Francisco
Chronicle. Her stories appear in The New Yorker, The Best American Short Stories
2011, The PEN/O. Henry Prize Stories 2009, The Paris Review, Tin House, and elsewhere.
She is the fiction editor of The Kenyon Review and teaches at Grand Valley State
University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Writing Outside the Lines--
Owen Egerton
Sunday, Jan. 27, 1-3:30PM

OWEN EGERTONis the author of the short story collection How Best to Avoid Dying
and the novel The Book of Harold, which is currently in development as a television,
which is currently in development as a television series with Warner Brothers television.
His novel Everyone Says That at the End of the World is due out in April. He's also
written screenplays for Fox, Warner Brothers, and Disney Studios. In 2012, he was
voted "Austin's Favorite Writer."

MICHAEL MARTONE is a professor at the creative writing program at the University
of  Alabama, has also been a faculty member of the MFA Program for  Writers at
Warren Wilson College, and taught at Iowa State University,  Harvard University
and Syracuse University. Martone has won two  Fellowships from the NEA and a grant
from the Ingram Merrill Foundation.  His stories have won awards in the Italian
Americana fiction contest,  the Florida Review Short Story Contest, the first World's
Best  Short, Short Story Contest, and elsewhere. His stories and essays have  appeared
and been cited in the Pushcart Prize, The Best American Stories, and The Best American
Essays anthologies. He is the author of more than a dozen books, and his  literary
forte is "false biographies," so who even knows if this bio is  real?

ROBIN HEMLEYis the winner of a Guggenheim Fellowship for his work on DO-OVER!. He
has published seven books, and his stories and essays have appeared in the New York
Times, New York Magazine, Chicago Tribune, and many literary magazines and anthologies.

Robin received his MFA from the Iowa Writers Workshop; he currently  directs the
Nonfiction Writing Program at the University of Iowa and  lives in Iowa City, IA.
He JUST won a Pushcart this year for his essay,  "The Rainforest Room." This will
be Robin's third visit to The Writer's  Garret.
