Communities Foundation of Texas Named One of Best Workplaces in DFW
Communities Foundation of Texas

November, 2012

Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT) has been named by The Dallas Morning News as one of the “Top 100 Places to Work” in Dallas-Fort Worth.

CFT placed No. 17 for small businesses in the contest, which awards companies for creating “environments that inspire employees and make them proud to work there,” according to The News.  Winners were announced Nov. 11 in the newspaper’s Top 100 Places to Work magazine.

“Everyone at CFT stands strongly behind our commitment to make tomorrow better for our community,” said Brent Christopher, president and CEO of Communities Foundation of Texas. “The honor of being selected as one of our city’s Top 100 Places to Work is both humbling and gratifying.”

Winners were chosen based on confidential feedback from more than 72,000 local employees who were surveyed about workplace factors including ethics, benefits and a sense of fun and creativity. For its fourth annual list, The News started out with 1,033 nominees and winnowed it down to 276 companies before coming up with the Top 100. CFT was one of only a few nonprofits to make the list.

CFT, which is headquartered at 5500 Caruth Haven Lane in Dallas, was a first-time nominee competing in the category for small businesses that employ between 50 and 149 workers. The Foundation serves as a hub for collaboration between donors, nonprofits and others, often through smart grantmaking.

The Dallas Morning News partnered on the Top 100 list with WorkplaceDynamics, a national firm that surveys more than a million employees every year in 30 U.S. metropolitan markets. According to The News, all of the top workplaces share certain common traits, such as strong leaders who listen to their employees. http://labs.dallasnews.com/top100/web/search?companyName=&companyType=Small

Our goal is to treat our team the same way we strive to treat everyone we serve in the community – with a focus on mission, clear goals, mutual respect, and communication,” said Beth Bull, CFT’s senior vice president and chief financial officer. “We believe all that, plus an element of fun, leads to a strong sense of belonging.”
