The Public Relations Society of America San Antonio Chapter is once again offering free public relations counseling to local non-profit organizations this December. The annual Gift of Guidance program, which began in the 1990s, will provide a free counseling session to six 501 (c) 3 organizations at PRSA’s December luncheon, set for Thursday, December 6, 2012 at the Hilton Double Tree Airport Hotel.
South Texas nonprofits that do not have either a public relations professional on staff or access to public relations support are eligible to submit an application for the program. PRSA members will provide public relations counseling to six selected nonprofits. The recipient organizations may send up to two representatives to the luncheon.
PR professionals spend one hour consulting with a non-profit organization representative about fine-tuning media messages, planning special events and developing basic public relations plans. The participating nonprofits will receive a free mini-PR plan after the session.
During the holiday season, this working lunch allows PRSA members to give back to the community by sharing a special gift that only they can give – their expertise. It’s PRSA’s way of supporting charities and other organizations that contribute so much to the community.
