Our Kid's ZINE Camp --
BEST OF DALLAS!
In partnership with Oil and Cotton, The Garret's Writers in Neighborhoods & Schools
(WINS) took top honors for "Best Kid's CAMP" from the Dallas Observer!

This is the fifth time that The Writer's Garret has been honored for one of our
programs through an annual "Best of" issue. Collectively, The Observer and D Magazine
have named us "Best Kept Secret," "Best Literary Organization," "Best Literary Experience,"
and "Best Reading Series."

BUT THIS IS A BIGGIE! The Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex really doesn't have all that
many literary organizations or series compared to the number of Children and Youth
Camps. To win "Best Kid's CAMP," our Zine program competed against HUNDREDS of year-round
/ summer camps in our area!

SPECIAL CONGRATULATIONS to Evan Cleveland, Shannon Driscoll, Kayli House Cusick,
and Lisa Huffaker for all of their inspired work conceptualizing the program, developing
curriculum, teaching the kids, and just being all-around amazing arts administrators
and instructors. THANK YOU!!!

Of special note: we have just received partial funding from the Texas Commission
on the Arts for a Winter / Spring installment of the ZINE CAMP. We will also be
opening satellite versions around town for next summer. Watch for registration
opportunities!
