Your First "HOT" Date:
THIS Thursday, September 13th,
North Texas GIVING Day (Through DonorBridge)

The Writer's Garret will again participate in this year's "Giving Day," and we REALLY
hope you will help. A portion of every donation of $25 or more will receive a partial
match--so this means your donation / membership goes further! Additionally, DonorBridge
will award $5,000 and $10,000 to the top two organizations bringing in the most
individual donors AND the same bonus for the most "NEW" donors since last year.
In 2011 The Writer's Garret came in 10th out of over 700 participating nonprofits!
With just a little more effort we can be the ONE!!!! We really need this, as we're
not out of the woods yet.
This year, donations can be received nearly around the clock, from 7:00 a.m. until
midnight. There will be available another $1 million dollars in challenge funds
and prizes.

and stay alive as your year-round community literary center serving readers, children,
families, writers, and educators.

Your Second "Hot" Date:
Our Open House THIS SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 16th, 1 p.m.

Been  wondering what The Writer's Garret has to offer?  Had an interest in  being
part of a literary community but really didn't  know who, why,  when, or where?
THEN Join us Sunday, September 16, from 1-4 p.m., for our FALL Open House Potluck
and Preview Party!
We'll offer prizes and chances to save another 10% on classes and events beyond
the "early bird"/ members' discounts--but you'll need to be present and register
AT the Open House. You must also bring something neat to eat.
It's only the proper Garret "community" thing to do!
Special GUESTS include British author Daniel Simpson, whose memoir, A Rough Guide
to the Dark Side, has garnered     praise here and across the pond! (Catch him on
KERA's Thinkthis Thursday right after you make your DonorBridge contribution!) THEN,
Peggy Brown will provide a "teaser" exercise for a class being offered FREE OF CHARGE
to our members.
Meet other writers, Garret Trustees, CAMPers, and some of our upcoming instructors
and speakers, including Edie Bakker and Gregg Thompson, among others.
This event is FREE (except for the tasty dish!), but donations  (large or small)
are accepted and deeply appreciated. You may
R.S.V.P. here [], as space will be limited.
