Meeting the Needs of Child Trafficking Victims:
The Impact of In re. B.W.
In 2010, the Texas Supreme Court held that children under 14 cannot be prosecuted for prostitution, decriminalizing young victims of human trafficking. This lunch-hour CLE will provide participants with vital information regarding the current status of Texas law with regard to human trafficking. From prosecuting traffickers to safe harbor legislation and the need for victim services, attendees will hear from experts on our State’s response to this pervasive problem as well as where the greatest need is now for child victims.
