| WildLife 2012 Grand and Silent Auctions TWA hosts two outstanding auctions during the convention weekend. Saturday night's Grand Auction features hunting and other one-of-a-kind outdoor opportunities unavailable through any other venue. The Silent Auction features all kinds of unique items ranging from feeders, blinds, firearms, clothing, jewelry, optics, and so much more. The Silent Auction also features an Outdoor Adventures component that includes hunts, fishing trips, and vacation packages! Some items, thus far, in the Grand Auction include: 1982 Jeep Scrambler 4x4 Custom Hunting Rig - This jeep is custom-equipped by South Texas Outfitters in their distinctive fashion! It is sure to impress all your hunting buddies. Donated by Randall Hudson and South Texas Outfitters; 2012 Yamaha Rhino 700 FI - One of the most unique side by side all-terrain vehicles. Featuring an ultra-matic transmission, four-wheel independent suspension, four-wheel drive, and all in a rock solid ultra-comfortable ride. Donated by Yamaha Motor Corporation; Flint Creek Trophy Whitetail Hunt - This special hunt honors the late TWA Life Member and Director Ray Murski. One lucky hunter will be able to harvest a mature trophy whitetail buck (6 ½ years or older) scoring 180-200 gross B&C. The hunt will be personally guided by Ray's son Mike who is also a TWA Life Member. The beautiful Flint Creek Ranch is located in Bosque County and features some of the finest whitetails found anywhere. Hunt is all-inclusive and also includes a custom, limited-edition Remington Model 700 7mm rifle, embossed with a custom name plate honoring Ray Murski, and topped with a Zeiss 3x9x40mm riflescope. Only 72 custom rifles were made in his honor; Other Grand Auction items include: Two Day Guided Whitetail and Nilgai Hunt on the famous King Ranch, Wildlife Systems Trophy Aoudad Hunt, Atascosa Wildlife Supply Custom Deer Blinds, Three-Day New Zealand Red Stag Hunt with South Pacific Safaris, Seven Devils Lodge Stay in Idaho, and much more! | See Texas' Best Big Game Taken Last Season Some of the most spectacular specimens of white-tailed deer, mule deer, pronghorn antelope, and bighorn sheep taken during the 2011-2012 hunting season will be on display at the Statewide Texas Big Game Awards Sportsman's Celebration scheduled for the evening of Friday, June 29. The program recognizes both the hunter who took the animal and the land manager whose efforts produced the habitat necessary to sustain the animal. Also awarded will be those hunters who took the special Texas Slam Award, which is an award given to those hunters and landowners who harvest/produce all three qualifying TBGA species in one season. Another exciting announcement will be the awarding of the first- annual Capital Farm Credit TBGA Landowner of the Year (LOTY) Award, presented to the Temple Ranch. TPWD Executive Director Carter Smith will help present the TBGA awards.
