Opening weekend

Friday, June 1: Trombone Shorty

The festival opens big with the multitalented trombonist/trumpeter/singer who sizzled in his Concerts in the Garden debut last year. Trombone Shorty and his band deliver a rich New Orleans brew of jazz, funk, rock and hip-hop in a high-energy show that shouldn’t be missed.

Saturday, June 2: Old 97’s

Local heroes the Old 97’s helped invent the alternative country genre when they roared out of Dallas in the 1990s. Charismatic lead singer Rhett Miller provides the brilliant, piercing lyrics, over a sound that ranges from alt-country to power pop and appeals to rock and country fans alike.

Sunday, June 3: A Tribute to Elvis with Kraig Parker

Elvis lives — again! — through the uncanny talents of Kraig Parker. The King of tribute artists drives crowds wild with his perfect renditions of Blue Suede ShoesAll Shook Up and many more.
