The Landscape Thinks in Me:
Conjuring the Spirit of Place in Poetry
with Award-Winning Poet
CYRUS CASSELLS

Saturday, May 12, 2012

10 AM - 5 PM

Through in-class exercises, sharing of student pieces, and discussion of insights
by writers and artists as diverse as William Blake, Elizabeth Bishop, Sandra Cisneros,
Dante, Cesare Pavese, and Georgia O'Keefe, this lively, one-day workshop is designed
to bolster your ability to recreate beloved landscapes and sacred ground that have
the stamp of your individuality. How do places in our poems serve both as sites
of communion and as self-portraits?

Among CYRUS CASSELLS' honors are a Lannan Literary Award, a William Carlos Williams
Award, a Pushcart Prize, two NEA grants, and a Lambda Literary Award.

* $95 Members
