On Wednesday, April 18 the 11th Annual Spirit of Entrepreneurship celebration will bring together more than 300 business, political and civic leaders to recognize those bringing meaningful change to our community. This year’s invitation-only event titled, ‘Charting the Course of Philanthropy,’ will feature the induction of Ross Perot into the Entrepreneurs For North Texas (EFNT) Ring of Entrepreneurs. EFNT is a program of Communities Foundation of Texas that facilitates community involvement for small to mid-size companies.
The Perot Systems founder will give a speech followed by Q&A session from the audience.
An additional highlight of the evening is the presentation of North Star Recognition to individuals and companies that have set a “shining example” of community leadership. Gail Warrior, CEO of Heart of a Warrior Foundation, and professional services firm McGladrey will be honored this year. Both have dedicated valuable time, resources and energy to make North Texas a better place to live and work.
EFNT’s Executive Director Pam Gerber says Spirit of Entrepreneurship is one of her personal favorite annual events hosted by the organization.
“We’re excited to be able to showcase businesses that have made contributions to strengthen our communities. Being able to recognize a business leader like Ross Perot, someone who has done so much for not only North Texas, but for our country as well, is truly an honor for our organization.”
Through the Perot Foundation, funds have benefit education programs, wounded soldiers, and advanced medical research, particularly for illnesses associated with Desert Storm. Perot joins a prestigious group of business leaders whose dedication to corporate philanthropy throughout their careers have made an indelible impact on communities locally and nationally. Previous inductees include T. Boone Keyes, Ray Hunt, Jim Keyes, Herb Kelleher, Craig Hall, Roger Staubach, T. Boone Pickens, and Charles and Sam Wyly.
