March, 2012Step into the wonderful world of Darwin and experience the adventure of Darwin Days, March 12-March 16, 2-3 p.m. Join guest experts each day for fun-filled family presentations using live plants, animals and specimens. From the Galapagos Islands to the habitats of South Texas, each day of Spring Break will introduce another exciting aspect of Darwin’s work, inspired by the Darwin: How One Man’s Theory Turned the World on its Head exhibit currently on view. Darwin Days is included with museum admission.
Don’t miss a week of hands-on presentations with specimens, live animals and birds of prey!
Monday: – Know Your Island Ecology, using specimens from around the world, Patsy Inglet, a volunteer from the San Antonio Zoo will explore the nature of island environments; Tuesday: Nature is Everywhere!, Witte Museum’s own naturalist, Tom Kinsey will us live animals to demonstrate adaptation in natural habitats of Texas; Wednesday: What Did Darwin Find?, join Zoomagination and their live animals as they show distinct and different animal features; Thursday: All About Birds!, meet owls, hawks and other birds of prey in an outdoor flying demonstration by Last Chance Forever: The Bird of Prey Conservancy; and Friday: So Many Insects!, explore live insects and arachnids with biologist, John Ramirez.
