As a valued partner of Dress for Success San Antonio, we want to let you know about the renewal of one of our most valuable programs...
Dress for Success San Antonio originally launched the Going Places Network (GPN) by Walmart in May 2011, and we've just been given the go ahead to conduct more classes in 2012! Funded by a national grant by the Walmart Foundation, GPN is designed to help unemployed and under-employed clients gain professional skills, accelerate their job search and build confidence through weekly 12 class sessions, one-on-one career coaching and networking, in a supportive environment.
The program is provided free of charge to both the participants and the referral agencies. To be eligible, the client must be:
- Female
- Actively seeking employment & legally able to do so
- Able to attend weekly classes for 12 weeks (unless employment is secured)
- Able to access transportation (potential for bus passes or gas vouchers) and child care with the ability to attend on time
- Substance free for a minimum of three months

The first cohort begins Wednesday, March 21,2012,so time is of the essence. Classes will be held at our current location at the Wonderland of Americas Mall.
The aim of this program is to serve as an additional safety net for the ever increasing number of women who are seeking employment. We recognize that our partner agencies are managing larger than ever caseloads and hope this will provide service to you as well. The Going Places Network by Walmart adds to the portfolio of services provided by Dress for Success San Antonio, so disadvantaged women will have access to support for every phase of their professional lives, starting with job search and leading to sustained employment and self-sufficiency.
