The Writer's Garret and Oil and Cotton []
are excited to announce Paper Explosions: Zine Camp 2012, an art and literature
camp experience for youth ages 11-18.

Through Paper Explosions, your young adult will create his or her own zine, learning
the tools for written self-expression while exploring the art techniques behind
zines and their production methods.  We are offering the camp twice: June 18-22
and July 16-20, from 1-4 PM. Each camp costs $150, and space will be limited. If
you act fast, your young artist could even join both weeks.

To double down on the summer art, your child can also join our partner camp Taking
It to the Streets []
with Dallas Contemporary [],
which will happen during the same weeks from 9AM-12PM.  Parents can drop off at
the Dallas Contemporary at 9AM and pick up at Oil and Cotton at 4PM. FREE TRANSPORTATION
from the Dallas Contemporary to Oil and Cotton will be provided by DART, and a healthy
lunch will also be included, with produce provided by Urban Acres [].

This summer, our students will explore their obsessions, define their margins, and
go viral, by hand.

To sign your student up, click HERE [].

Writers' CAMP is an alternative, non-credit creative writing program that addresses
the needs of writers too challenged by time and / or financial constraints to pursue
a traditional university degree.

CAMP participants work in small cohorts and, at advanced levels, one-on-one with
professional writers to develop craft, an artistic practice and a writer's sensibility.

Specialize in fiction, poetry or creative nonfiction, or explore all these genres.

Both cash payment and work-exchange options are available to cover tuition.

Spring 2012 Early Bird deadline to apply: April 24, 2012

To learn more, visit The Writer's Garret website []
or email CAMP Director Joe Milazzo at [].
