January, 2012Jacqueline Piar-Thomas has been named Superintendent of the Trinity Charter School District (TCS). The TCS district is comprised of three campuses, all of which serve troubled youth who have severe emotional and/or behavioral difficulties. These children have been placed in a psychiatric hospital or at secure residential treatment centers due to the intense level of care they require.
An administrator with over 27 years of experience in education, Ms. Piar-Thomas has served as a teacher, Director of Special Education, Assistant Superintendent, and Superintendent. She has also been the recipient of two Governors’ awards, three distinguished service awards, as well as other assorted honors. Prior to joining Trinity Charter School, Ms. Piar-Thomas was an Associate Superintendent for the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston.
The three TCS campuses, all located in Texas, are on the grounds of: Cedar Crest Hospital in Belton; Krause Children's Center in Katy; and New Life Children's Center in Canyon Lake. TCS is fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency. The 2011-2012 school year is the eighth year of operation for the District. Lutheran Social Services of the South, Inc. is the sponsoring entity of Trinity Charter Schools.
