Rising Restrictions on Religion

A new report from the Pew Research Center's Forum on Religion & Public Life finds that nearly a third of the world's total population of 6.9 billion live in countries where either government restrictions on religion or social hostilities involving religion rose substantially between 2006 and 2009.

Video: Central Falls, RI Files for Bankruptcy

Last week, Pew Center on the States managing director Sue Urahn spoke to NBC Nightly News about the city of Central Falls, Rhode Island, declaring bankruptcy. She gave national and historic context regarding localities declaring bankruptcy in the United States, as well as an explanation of how Central Falls' financial troubles could affect the state as a whole.
