Pint-Sized Science (Ages 4-6 yrs) 
Every Wednesday

Pint-Sized Science introduces your budding scientists to basic science concepts. Every month we’ll explore a different theme such as weather, animals, reactions, nutrition and many more.  Free with museum admission.

8/3 Bouncing Bubbles: Learn what about makes a bubble a bubble and why bubbles are not always round! Become a bubble expert as we fill bubbles with smoke, bounce them and even blow them into the shape of a square.

8/10: Daring Density: Oil and water don’t mix! Learn about density when you stack liquids on top of each other and create your own lava lamp.

8/17: Candy Chemistry:  Use candy to create some explosive science experiments. It’s going to be sweet!

8/24: pHun with Acids and Bases Investigate the reactions of acids and bases by decoding secret messages, blowing up balloons with a soda bottle and making your own soap.

8/31: Light the Night: Learn some neat facts about the moon and stars and make your own constellations.

Toddler Time (Early Childhood - 0-36 months)

Staff led activities building upon your child’s fine and gross motor skills. Weekly activities may include reading, music and exploration of hands-on materials. For ages 0-3 years.

Reading Adventures (Pre-K)

Reading Adventures is an early childhood program created and taught by experienced early childhood educators. The program strengthens language, listening and motor skills through story time, pretend dramatic play and multisensory activities. FREE with museum admission.

Dots and Squiggles is an early childhood program created and taught by experienced early childhood educators. Fun and engaging lessons encourage children to experience a wide variety of activities that incorporate art, sensory exploration, movement, music, story time and dramatic play. FREE with museum admission.

The Art Studio is a fun, hands-on activity space where children and parents or caregivers can create art together. Lively and well equipped, the Art Studio provides opportunities for exploring self-expression led by artist-educators. FREE with museum admission.
August Theme: Van Gogh Sunflowers in Oil Pastel: Create oil pastel sunflowers in the style of Van Gogh’s painting, Sunflowers.

The San Antonio Children’s Museum provides engaging hands-on experiences Where Kids Play to Learn and Adults Learn to Play!  The museum offers three floors of interactive, educational exhibits for children ages 0-10 years and their caregivers.  Visit today to experience the action packed PowerBall Hall, H-E-B Kids’ Market, Tot Spot, Science City and our NEWEST exhibit, Frost Good Cents Bank, dedicated to financial literacy!  Museum visitors can also explore the sciences, creative arts and early literacy through our weekly educational programs.
