June, 2011The San Antonio Botanical Garden continues its popular summer series Concerts Under the Stars, on Thursday, June 23 with Texas Tide.
Since the summer of 2000, Texas Tide has entertained the Texas music scene as San Antonio's own Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band. The college professor, middle school teacher, real estate broker, and two UTSA graduates truly rock the easy going beach bum persona that the King of Margaritaville is known for. The tropical sounds from Buffet’s hit list, combined with a mix of classic old time rock and roll from the 50's, 60's, and 70's, makes for a concert fix you can’t miss. Throw in a splash of Jerry Jeff and Willie and you have the perfect party band!
So dress up in your island duds and join the San Antonio Botanical Garden as they host Texas Tide Thursday, June 23.
In addition to the live music, guests can dine in the Garden’s party atmosphere with pre-ordered gourmet box dinners from Central Market (210-368-8686). Beverages - including wine, beer, water and soft drinks - will be available for purchase at the Garden.
Concert-goers may bring lawn chairs and blankets but no outside food and drink. Gates open at 6 p.m., with the tunes beginning at 7 p.m. and ending about 9 p.m.
Following up Texas Tide is Wilbert Beasley, Body & Soul on July 14 and The Krayloas on July 28.
Concerts Under the Stars is generously sponsored by Valero Energy Foundation, Culligan Water of San Antonio, Central Market H-E-B, Shiner Family of Beers, and San Antonio Department of Parks & Recreation. Media sponsors include Magic 105.3 FM Radio and the San Antonio Express News.
The Botanical Garden offers many events year round such as the upcoming Dog Days of Summer, Starlight Movies at the garden and the “Amazing Butterflies” exhibit.
