Concert-goers may bring lawn chairs and blankets but no outside food and drink. Gates open at 6 p.m., with musical performances beginning at 7 p.m. and ending about 9 p.m.

Admission is $8. Tickets sold at the event. Botanical Society members enjoy discounted or free admission, depending on membership level.

The bands:

Colaó – June 9

Latin salsa lovers will especially enjoy this band. Colaó is slang derived from the Spanish word "colado" which means mixed. With Puerto Rican, Dominican, Mexican and Cuban influences, Colaó is the best way to describe this band which focuses on authenticity and reverting back to the early fundamentals of Latin music. Individually hand picked for their musical talents, most of the Colaó members have at least ten years of playing professionally around the world.

Texas Tide – June 23

San Antonio’s Jimmy Buffet Tribute Band is made up of a college professor, a middle school teacher, a real estate broker, and two UTSA graduates. The group still pays tribute to the popular tropical and island music of Margarita fame but also finds time for waves of classic old time rock and roll from the 50's, 60's, and 70's. Dressed in Island shirts, carrying a few Boat Drinks, and anchoring the stage with lots of yellow Rubber Ducks, “The Tide” knows that It's Five O'clock Somewhere.

Wilbert Beasley, Body & Soul – July 14

Wilbert "The Soul Man" Beasley founded Body & Soul in 1996. Since then Wilbert has been in demand to perform everywhere from clubs and city music festivals to private events and special concerts. Wilbert has been performing since the early 60's including a year in Acapulco where Hollywood celebrities would see him perform. Bring your dancing shoes and dance to the sounds of old school R&B and Motown hits

The Krayolas – July 28

Thirty years ago, the Krayolas walked out of their daddy's garage and into the legendary West Side studio, Zaz, to make their first vinyl record. The Krayolas were hailed Tex-Mex Beatles, just as the Sir Douglas Quintet had been a decade earlier -- connected in spirit, their love of rock 'n' roll and their hometown roots. Taking a step back and listening to the disparate collection that only hints at the Krayolas onstage power, their essence is irresistible. It’s direct-to-the-brain power pop and garage band rock -- young, raw, energetic, upbeat, charming, campy and fun. Always melodic, the Krayolas easy-to-hum sound puts a smile on your face.
