Attention foster parents, group homes, RTC’s and case workers, anyone who has a child in foster care in their care!
Adoption Coalition of Texas

April, 2011

Once again this summer, an amazing group of community volunteers (all background checked) are putting on “Skiin’with the Galilean” Wednesday June 8 & Thursday June 9.

Skiin' with the Galilean is a Christian ministry designed to serve youth currently in foster care care by providing them:

  • A safe, fun-filled day of water skiing, wakeboarding, boat rides and inner-tubing on Lake Marble Falls
  • Fun and games with a biblical message
  • Lunch AND Dinner

All at no cost to the foster children they serve! Spaces are limited so RSVP today!

Email your RSVP to Amanda Wintenburg with the Adoption Coalition of Texas at amanda@adopttexas with the following information:

  • What day you want to attend? Choose one: Wednesday June 8 OR Thursday June 9
  • How many children are you bringing?
  • Will they all be participating in the water activities on a boat? (need to know number for making boat assignments)
  • How many adults will be attending? (for food estimates)
  • Will any of the adults in your group will need to accompany any of the kids on the boat (again, need to know for making boat assignments)
  • Please provide the name and cell phone number of person who will be driving the children to camp. We must have day-of contact info.
  • Please provide your name, email address, and phone number so that we can confirm your registration

If for any reason you find you can’t make it after you have RSVP’d, please let us know!!!! We assign the available boat slots to the kids based on RSVPs and keep a Wait List once the spots are full. We don’t want any boat drivers sitting around with no shows or wait-listed families not having the opportunity to attend! The boat drivers and volunteers come from all over Central Texas, take the day off work, volunteer their time, boat gas, etc, so we need the camp to remain full (plus, we can serve more kids that way).

It is also VERY IMPORTANT to arrive on time. Please arrive between 8:15am and 9am. During that time we’ll be assigning kids/families to boats. At 9am, you will meet the drivers, have a quick orientation and get out on the water. This is an ALL DAY event (approx 9am - 6pm), so plan on staying for both morning and afternoon/evening activities.

Attached is a flyer with information. The following link shows a map of the Marble Falls City Park where we meet:

Also, please let us know if you have any special needs children as there is a special 1/2 day camp available to them. Contact us and we'll give you more information.

Again, spaces are limited and fill fast, so RSVP as soon as possible. We look forward to seeing you at the lake this summer!
