Texas Foundations Fund
The Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation has now posted the 2011 Texas Foundations Fund Notice of Funding Availability and Application Requirements on its website: www.tsahc.org.
Pending Board approval, funding availability for the 2011 cycle of the Texas Foundations Fund is $300,000, up to $50,000 per grant. Eligible grant applicants are:
- nonprofit organizations, or
- rural government entities located in cities with a population less than 50,000 not located in a federal Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) or counties with a population less than 100,000 not located in a federal MSA, as of the last federal census.
Grants will be awarded to projects that meet either of the following activities:
- The construction, rehabilitation, and/or critical repair of single family homes for Texas residents of very low-income or extremely low-income; or
- The provision of supportive housing services for very low-income or extremely-low income residents of multifamily rental units. Eligible supportive housing activities are services provided on-site including, but are not limited to, the provision of alcohol and drug counseling, mental health counseling, or services provided on site by a health care provider.This does not include funding of the construction/rehabilitation of multifamily rental units.
Applications are due on Friday, June 24, 2011 by 5 p.m. and recommendations by the Advisory Council of the Texas Foundations Fund are anticipated to be submitted to the Board of Directors at its regularly scheduled board meeting in August.
