NCAA Excitement - What's Next?!
For those of you who enjoyed watching VCU upset #1 ranked Kansas in the Southwest Regional Championship game, mark your calendars because championship magic will return to the Alamo City in December. The NCAA Division I Women's Volleyball Championship takes the court December 14-17.
Hosting NCAA Championships is becoming more and more competitive, so it's crucial that the San Antonio community give 110% for every NCAA Championship. Our goal is to draw a record crowd of more than 17,430 to the volleyball championship giving San Antonio the distinction of having the best attendance for NCAA women's basketball and volleyball championships. The Alamodome hosted 29,619 fans for the Women's Final Four in 2002.

| Don't miss the Go!Kids Challenge FIELD DAY this Sunday, April 10 from noon until 3 p.m. The football field in the Alamodome will be the site of this very special day for Go!Kids and their families. This is where they'll get their finisher's medal and Go!Kids backpack. We have lots of fun activities planned. We'll also have Jared from Subway, the Spurs Coyote, and members of Steele High School's championship football team, Mayor Castro, Olympic gold medalist bobsledder Justin Olsen and other special guests and entertainment. |
Participants need to bring their Go!Kids finisher's coupon from their journal or the print out from their online journal at www.gokidschallenge.com. That's what will prove they've completed the 2011 Go!Kids Challenge.
The Go!Kids Field Day is FREE, so bring the entire family. Parking is $5 in Lot B of the Alamodome, a special discounted Fiesta rate for Go!Kids only.

|Golfers and tennis players have a chance to play with some of San Antonio's sports luminaries at the annual San Antonio Sports Hall of Fame Golf & Tennis Classic, taking place this year on Monday, May 23, at the beautiful Dominion Country Club. Hall of Fame members play in the tournaments and are honored guests at the afternoon awards ceremony and reception. To date, Hall of Fame members Frank Arnold, Gary Bell, Jerry Comalander, Joe Cortez, Joel Horlen, Cliff Johnson, John Miles, and Johnny Moore are signed up to play golf. A NEW addition this year is the tennis tournament. The open play, mixed doubles format will begin at 10 a.m. Don't miss this inaugural event, or a great day of golf. Register your team today. || |
